Further, as a Pipeliner CRM user you can apply discounts, taxes, and automatically calculate fields. The sales process is more intimately tied to workflow.
About the Pipeliner CRM Product Catalog
The Pipeliner CRM product catalog allows you to easily list all of the products and services related to the specific deal you are working with.
What You Can Do as a Pipeliner CRM User
As a Pipeliner CRM user you can perform the following sales operations with sales opportunity when using Product Catalog:
- Add products and services from your company product catalog.
- Use your custom product prices or use the price list according to your company definition.
- Add product discounts or additions.
- Update Opportunity Value—manually or automatically!
- Filter deals per product list.
- Run reports quickly for a full view, any time.
- Plus other handy features.
This is the second part in our ongoing series about how to use the Pipeliner CRM Product Catalog. In the steps below, we show you how to use Pipeliner CRM product catalog as a Pipeliner CRM user:
How To Use The Product Catalog (User)
The product catalog consists of all products and services your business wants to list. You can use any product within the list in order to assign it to your sales opportunities.
How To Add Products to Pipeliner CRM Sales Opportunity
The product list is created on the company level. If you miss any product within the list, you need to contact your Pipeliner CRM administrator in order to add it to the CRM application.
A Product is defined as a type of product or service related to a sales opportunity.
In order to add products to your sales opportunity, follow these steps:
- Run Pipeliner CRM and click "Pipeline" within the main bottom menu.
- Find the Opportunity you would like to edit and double click on it.
- Scroll down to the "Products & Services" part and click "Add" button.
- Search for the product you would like to assign and click "Add."
The product will be added to the selected opportunity. Now you can easily change:
- Quantity or number of units per product.
- Price per product.
How To Assign a Price List to the Sales Opportunity
By default, all products added into the sales opportunity have a user-defined price value. If you would like to use the prices on a company level, you need to select the right price list first.
A Price List is a list of product prices related to the specific time period.
In order to use company price lists within the sales opportunity, configure your deal this way:
- Run Pipeliner CRM and click "Pipeline" with the main bottom menu.
- Find the Opportunity you would like to edit and double click on it.
- Scroll down to the "Products & Services" part and find the "Price List" dropdown.
- Click on the list and select the "Price List" you would like to use to calculate the products according to it.
- Once you have assigned valid price list and you also have set currency exchange rate, you may also select a different currency for your price list
The list will automatically assign the product price tag according to the company level definition.
How To Add a Discount or Addition to the Product
Once, you use the company price list, you can give discounts or additions to the products assigned to the sales opportunity. In order to add a discount, follow these steps:
- Run Pipeliner CRM and click "Pipeline" with the main bottom menu.
- Find the Opportunity you would like to edit and double-click on it.
- Scroll down to the "Products & Services" part and click on the "Tag" icon. (Important: This icon is available only when you use company based price lists, see the price list above)
- Use the "Minus" symbol to give discount, either using percentage or the value field.
In order to add an addition, follow these steps:
- Run Pipeliner CRM and click "Pipeline" with the main bottom menu.
- Find the Opportunity you would like to edit and double click on it.
- Scroll down to the "Products & Services" part and click on the "Tag" icon. (Important: This icon is available only when you use company based price lists, see the price list above)
- Start typing the value you would like to add, either using percentage or the value field.
How To Calculate Sales Opportunity Value based on the Products
Once you have added and configured all products to the sales opportunity, you can recalculate the opportunity value based on this information. In order to use products value for calculating the opportunity value, see these steps:
- Run Pipeliner CRM and click "Pipeline" with the main bottom menu.
- Find the Opportunity you would like to edit and double click on it.
- Scroll down to the "Products & Services" part and click on the "Update Value" button.
TIP: You can use auto-calculation of the opportunity value per enabling the "Auto Update Value" feature.
How to Add Already Assigned Product to a Sales Opportunity
Use Case: You are selling to a one customer one and same product by using two different prices.
- Run Pipeliner CRM
- Open Opportunity.
- Scroll-down to "Products & Services" field. As you can see from the screenshot below, we already added the product "Pipeliner Set-up" into the opportunity. In a case you need to use this product twice with two different prices, you need to add it again.
- Click "Add" in order to add Products into the opportunity.
- Here you can see the new feature "Show already added items".
- Check this option if you need to add already assigned product to a sales opportunity. As you can see, you can now add "Pipeliner Set-up" again.
This way you can multiply the same product within the opportunity details with different quotes.
