Bubble Chart View in Pipeliner CRM

What is a bubble chart view? A bubble chart view is a type of chart that displays three dimensions of data. Each entity with its three views of associated data is plotted as a bubble. Two values are expressed through the bubble's xy location, and the third through its size. As the definition above is a standard explanation of the bubble chart by Wikipedia, we tailor this definition to the sales environment. Within sales we define bubble chart view as:

The bubble chart is a three dimensional chart of sales opportunities. Each sales opportunity is plotted as a bubble on the chart which visually displays its sales pipeline position (y-axis), its closing date (x-axis along the bottom) and its potential (forecast) value as the size of the bubble.

If you want to know which are your largest deals, where they are in your timeline and what stage they’re at – the bubble chart shows you all of that in a single view. Let's explore this new and powerful next-gen sales tool in detail! Learn why bubble chart view is a must tool for your sales now:

Bubble Chart View Focus Grid

The Bubble chart helps you with prioritizing your sales opportunities! The bubble chart view, with its 3 dimensions, enables you to focus on the right sales opportunities. To better explain how it enables you to focus we created for you a simple grid:

  • Q1 - The opportunity is just at the beginning of the sales cycle (within first stages of sales pipeline); the opportunity has closing date set to very far future and it's value is low.
    • Sales Pipeline Position: Early Stages
    • Closing Date: Far Future
    • Value: Low
  • Q2 - The opportunity is just at the beginning of the sales cycle (within first stages of sales pipeline), opportunity has near closing date and it's value is low.
    • Sales Pipeline Position: Early Stages
    • Closing Date: Near Future
    • Value: Low
  • Q3 - The opportunity is at the end of the sales cycle (within the last stages of sales pipeline prior to close), opportunity has closing date set to very far future and it's value is high.
    • Sales Pipeline Position: Last Stages
    • Closing Date: Far Future
    • Value: High
  • Q4 - The opportunity is at the end of the sales cycle (within last stages of sales pipeline prior to close), opportunity has near closing date and it's value is high.
    • Sales Pipeline Position: Last Stages
    • Closing Date: Near Future
    • Value: High

Bubble Chart View Focus Grid According to the bubble chart view grid, be sure to focus on the sales opportunities within the Q4 quadrant!

Bubble Chart View: Pipeline (Dimension no.1)

The very first dimension of the bubble chart view is the pipeline. As you might already know sales pipeline describes the individual steps salespeople take from initial contact with a potential customer, or prospect, to qualifying that prospect into a lead, and further validating that lead into a sales opportunity followed through the different stages to a close. Within the bubble chart the sales opportunities are plotted according to their position in the sales pipeline--i.e. in which stage they are currently sitting. Bubble Chart View: Timeline Dimension  (Dimension no.2)

The second important dimension on the bubble chart is the timeline. A timeline enables you to see individual sales opportunities scattered along time according to their closing dates. The closing date is the approximately date when the deal should be closed. It's a date that is tentatively agreed upon between a sales rep and customer. Within the bubble chart, the sales opportunities are plotted according to their expected closing dates. Pipeliner CRM Bubble Chart Timeline

Bubble Chart View: Opportunity Size (Dimension no.3)

The last third dimension within the bubble chart is the opportunity size. Within the bubble chart the sales opportunity value is represented by size of the bubble itself. The bigger the bubble, the higher the value of the deal.
