Pipeliner CRM Accounts Merging
An account in Pipeliner CRM represents a customer--an individual or company--for whom you are working on a lead or opportunity. For various reasons, you might have created two accounts that actually represent only one account. Thus it's important to merge these two accounts with all related information (including opportunities, leads, contacts, etc.). Follow the steps below to merge two accounts into a single account.
- Run Pipeliner CRM
- Click on "Accounts" from the main menu.
- On the screenshot below you can see that we are using "Compact View" to view accounts. Depending on which view you are using, there are 3 ways of selecting accounts you would like to merge.:
- Compact View - Click on the first account, then select the "Merge" icon on the top (on this view you cannot use multi-select option).
- Card View - Click the first account, hold down the control key (Windows) or cmd key (Mac) and click the second account.
- List View - Use the check boxes to select two accounts you would like to merge.
- Compact View - Click on the first account, then select the "Merge" icon on the top (on this view you cannot use multi-select option).
- This is the process of merging two accounts through "Compact View", where you can search for the second duplicated account. Once you click on the "Merge" icon within the top actions icon, the merge wizard starts. Search for the duplicated account within the search box.
- Select the master record--the one that will be retained.
- Select the mode of merging you prefer:
- Smart Mode - If you select the Smart Mode, all information within the master record will stay with the record and Pipeliner will fill in the missing fields from the second record automatically. All related records (such as opportunities, contacts, leads etc.) of the second account will be migrated to the master account.
- Advanced Mode - If you select Advanced Mode, you can manually pick up the field information you would like to retain, and choose from which account you would like to retain it.
- Smart Mode - If you select the Smart Mode, all information within the master record will stay with the record and Pipeliner will fill in the missing fields from the second record automatically. All related records (such as opportunities, contacts, leads etc.) of the second account will be migrated to the master account.
- Click "Merge" to finish the merging process. Note: The merging feature can only be used online, because the merge itself is happening on the server, not locally on your desktop, in order to immediately communicate the merge to all your users.
- Done.
